MESSIAH REIMAGINED
with the London Handel Festival
the London Handel Orchestra,
directed by LAURENCE CUMMINGS
One World Baroque was invited to be a Choral Partner on the London Handel Festival’s 2021 MESSIAH REIMAGINED project.
In September, following rehearsals with Daniel Taylor and coachings and sectionals with Kathryn Whitney, the choir recorded choruses that featured in a Messiah broadcast from London, which was directed by Laurence Cummings, on December 23.
In the lead up to the festival, Kathryn Whitney hosted INTO THE LIGHT – a lecture series with world-leading Handel specialists. The series also featured ‘Kaffee und Kuchen’ Messiah sing-alongs and an exchange of recipes from Handel’s London.
We send special thanks to Laurence Cummings, Gregory Batsleer, Adrian Butterfield, and Andrea Lee for inviting us to take part of this beautiful global project, which brought the light of Handel’s music to all in a dark time.
